Alpha Arbutin is a safe option for all skin tones as it does not change the skin colour, only evens out your complexion. It brightens the darker areas of the skin (sun damage and hyperpigmentation), resulting in a natural even skin tone

Alpha arbutin (Hydroquinone β-D-glucopyranoside) is a skin brightener that is typically derived from the bearberry plant. Due to its ability to prevent melanin from forming, the antioxidant powerhouse helps fade scars and hyperpigmentation.

Alpha arbutin is a more potent skin brightener as compared to vitamin C. It works like hydroquinone in lightening dark spots albeit, without the negative side effects. Alpha arbutin is effective in concentrations up to 2%, while vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) works best in concentrations between 10 – 20%.
